Istanbul - Easter 2016
We have been helping visitors find the best spots in Istanbul since 2008. We absolutely love this place!
A 4 night visit to Istanbul where we’ll have the chance to visit Hagia Sophia, built by Emperor Justinian in the year 532 this is one of the greatest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture, its interior is decorated with mosaics and marble pillars and coverings of great artistic value, this was the world's largest cathedral for 1,000 years up until the completion of the cathedral in Seville in Spain. Sultanhamet Mosque, also known as The Blue Mosque as the interior of the mosque is lined with more than 20,000 handmade İznik style ceramic tiles, made at Iznik (the ancient Nicaea) in more than fifty different tulip designs, and Topkapi Palace, the Royal residence of the Ottoman sultans for 400 years, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best example of ensemble of palaces of the Ottoman period.
We combine historic exploration with enjoyment of modern Istanbul. We share with you our local knowledge of the best places to visit to enjoy sweeping panoramic views, intimate and atmospheric neighbourhoods, traditional and modern food, lively markets and restful coffee shops. "I had a great time with Women on Tour in Istanbul. You did a great job of showing us both the historic treasures of the city as well as the modern additions which combine to make Istanbul irresistible. We were situated in the heart of it all, our WOT hostess led us through the city with ease and enthusiasm. I felt lucky to find a company that values exploration and small groups as high priorities. Everything about this trip was quality - even for "Istanbul on a Budget". I look forward to joining Women on Tour in the future and will definitely return to Istanbul!
